Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs:
My player needs to miss a practice or game. Who do we tell?
Your player should make every effort to let the coaches know in person prior to the absence. If not possible, or if asked to RSVP over chat, player should post to the team chat. Dress lists are made and communicated 24-48 hours before each game. It is VERY important that PLAYERS provide their availability when asked over the player chat. Players who do not respond within the time given are assumed to be a NO and will not be on the dress list for the next game.
If my player has a question, can he call or text the coach?
NO. Players and coaches should generally not engage in one-to-one phone or text conversations. Instead, the player can talk to the coach or team coordinator before a practice or game AND/OR post to the team chat.
If a parent has a question, what should we do?
If the question is about the club, fees, calendar or an event, contact Stephanie Ringhofer or your team’s coordinator. If we have the parent chat up and running, that’s a great place to post a question.
For questions or concerns about coaching, the best course of action is always to have the player talk to the coach or team coordinator. Parents can talk with coordinators as well. While coaches are happy to talk with parents, please be prepared that they will be honest in their answers to you.
My player is injured and needs to sit out games and practices for a period of time. What should we do?
Players should inform the coaches and coordinators through the player chat. The player must bring a doctor’s note with date of the start of the injury and can only return to ice (including practice) with an all clear note that includes the date from the doctor. These notes must be provided to the team coordinator, as injury time must be calculated for playoff eligibility. Players who cannot play but can safely attend games as spectators, are expected to attend games and pre- and post-game locker room coaching during their injury.
